Read the terms for using Spyglass, including AI-written summaries, original news sources and member accounts.

These terms apply when you use Spyglass (國際望遠鏡). By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. The service

Spyglass helps you discover news: headlines, links to the original articles, tags and short summaries written by an AI system, organised by place and industry. An optional free account saves your My Spyglass settings across devices.

2. News content and accuracy

  • Articles belong to their publishers. We show headlines and our own short summaries and link to the original; we do not copy full articles. Read the original for the full, authoritative story.
  • Summaries and tags are produced with AI and may be wrong, out of date or incomplete. The site is for general information only and is not professional, legal, financial or investment advice.
  • "Local" and "International" only say where an outlet is based; they say nothing about reliability. A listed outlet is not endorsed by us.

3. Your account

  • Use a real email address that you own and confirm it. Keep your password secret and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account.
  • You can delete your account at any time (My Spyglass, then "Delete account"). We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or harms the site.

4. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • attack, overload or try to break into the site, or get around rate limits and the bot check;
  • scrape the site in bulk, or use bots or scripts to create accounts or send email through it;
  • use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass others;
  • copy the site's design, code or branding in a way that confuses people about who runs it.

5. Ownership

The site's design, code, text and logo belong to the Operator or its licensors. News headlines and articles belong to their publishers and the outlets named. Your saved settings are yours.

6. Links and third parties

The site links to publishers and other websites that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

7. Advertising

There are no ads today.

8. Availability

The site is provided free and "as is". We may change, pause or stop any part of it, including the daily update times, without notice. We do not promise that it will always be available, correct or error-free.

9. Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, the Operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the site's content. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited.

10. Privacy

How we handle information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the site after a change means you accept it.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). If a dispute cannot be settled by talking, the courts of Taiwan have jurisdiction, as far as the law allows. Contact: contact@spyglassnews.com.
