Chinese suppliers push large-model chips and ADAS as local share grows
· Automotive & EV · China
China's automotive chip and driver-assistance suppliers are stepping up with new products as local vendors strengthen their market position. XHEART launched its large-model chip X7 Ultra with 700 TOPS of compute power and previewed a next-generation X9 chip planned for 2027. Gasgoo's rankings of ADAS component suppliers for January to August 2026 show Chinese local suppliers continuing to gain ground. Zhuoyu unveiled its Panxing brand and locked in partnerships with seven commercial vehicle makers. Industry commentary also questioned whether chip strategies need to change in the era of large models, and noted that passenger-car players are now entering commercial-vehicle smart driving. The activity reflects a fast-moving race to supply the computing hardware and software behind increasingly automated vehicles in the world's largest car market.
Why it matters:As driver-assistance features spread from premium cars to mass-market and commercial vehicles, chip compute and local supplier share will shape costs and technology dependence across the industry.
