BYD's Denza sets India debut; Nexteer and Pirelli expand local supply
· Automotive & EV · India · Brazil
BYD has confirmed that its luxury brand Denza will make its India debut on November 13, 2026, with the Z9 GT shooting brake and D9 luxury MPV expected to lead the launch. Both would sit above the core BYD range in price and positioning. The move comes as suppliers build out local capacity to serve Chinese and other automakers in India: Nexteer has opened an assembly plant in Brazil to supply column-assist electric power steering systems to BYD vehicles built there, and Pirelli has partnered with BKT to manufacture car tyres in India at one of BKT's newly built plants, following Pirelli's technology and quality specifications. Together the announcements show automakers and suppliers extending production and brand reach across emerging markets rather than relying on exports alone.
Why it matters:Chinese automakers are moving upmarket and into new countries, pulling global suppliers into local production deals that reshape regional supply chains.
