Roivant's brepocitinib succeeds in pivotal autoimmune and eye disease trials
· Health · United States
Roivant Sciences said its autoimmune drug brepocitinib succeeded in two pivotal trials, setting up a filing in 2027 as the company tries to build a franchise medicine in autoimmune disease. STAT reported the drug also posted positive results in the eye disease non-infectious uveitis, and one analyst said the data suggest it might be a best-in-disease medicine for the inflammatory eye condition. The results come shortly after brepocitinib won its first approval, in the skin disease dermatomyositis. Roivant has been positioning the drug across several immune conditions, and the latest readouts extend its reach into a new market.
Why it matters:Late-stage success across several immune indications would give Roivant a multi-market franchise and add a new competitor in autoimmune and ocular inflammation treatment.
