Boeing wins FAA certification for 737 Max 10
· Politics · United States
The US Federal Aviation Administration granted final approval for Boeing's 737 Max 10, the largest model in its best-selling Max family. The certification comes more than five years after the narrowbody jet's maiden flight; the aircraft had been set to start flying in 2020 but faced increased scrutiny and other safety issues that delayed approval. FAA Administrator Duffy said the certification process should move faster. The approval is an important step for Boeing as it tries to regain ground after safety crises and production setbacks.
Why it matters:Certifying the largest Max variant helps Boeing compete for narrowbody orders, but its safety record remains under scrutiny worldwide.
