· Security · Sudan
A drone strike near a market in al-Dibab in Sudan's West Kordofan state killed at least 80 people on Sunday evening, mostly commuters catching rides home, a medical source and a witness said, in one of the deadliest single attacks since the war erupted in 2023. A separate drone attack in the capital Khartoum on Monday killed four people, including three children. Rights groups warn that escalating attacks by unmanned aircraft are increasingly targeting civilians and infrastructure, with 160 people reported killed in recent drone strikes across the country.
