Zelenskyy heads to Turkey for 'important' talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would hold "important" talks in Turkey as part of diplomatic efforts after more than four and a half years of war with Russia. In Moscow, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Zelenskyy's comments were unhelpful and that Russia's position was unchanged, adding that fundamental issues in US-Russia relations remained unresolved. Lavrov also said inviting Poland to G20 meetings broke diplomatic rules.
Why it matters:Any Turkey-hosted talks would test whether diplomacy can gain traction as both sides harden positions and fighting continues.
