ACME Solar signs 300 MW/1,200 MWh peak-power PPA with India's SECI
· Energy · India
India's ACME Solar has signed a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to deliver 300 MW/1,200 MWh of assured peak power at $0.063/kWh. The supply will come from a firm and dispatchable renewable energy project combining solar and storage. Such FDRE contracts are designed to provide grid power on demand rather than only when the sun shines, and the low tariff shows storage-backed renewables competing on price in India's tendering regime.
Why it matters:Firm, dispatchable solar-plus-storage contracts at low tariffs are becoming the benchmark for replacing fossil peaking capacity, shaping procurement across fast-growing power markets.
Key points
- The PPA covers 300 MW/1,200 MWh of assured peak power
- Tariff is $0.063/kWh
- Supply comes from a solar-plus-storage FDRE project
