· Entertainment · United States
At New York Comic-Con, author Eoin Colfer announced that an animated adaptation of 'Artemis Fowl' has been greenlit for Disney Channel and Disney+, more than 25 years after the books debuted, with Colfer serving as executive producer. Separately at the same event, Tubi's chief content officer Adam Lewinson announced a live-action feature adaptation of R.L. Stine's 'The Babysitter' (1989-95), set for 2027. It marks the fourth title adapted under Tubi's ongoing partnership with Stine, following two 'Pumpkinhead' films and the recently announced 'Afraid of Clowns.'
Why it matters:Both announcements show streamers leaning on established children's and horror IP to fill pipelines, a strategy that shapes which books and franchises get adapted next.
